Television report Tom Edwards (Jeff Conaway) has just returned from his award-winning coverage of Operation Desert Storm, only to face storms of his own at home. In the wake of his wife's death, Tom immerses himself in his work, leaving his teenage daughter Jill (Debrah Tucker) neglected and hurt. Even their attempts to reach out to each other serve only to widen the gap between them. Through the moving stories of sholdiers of the Gulf War, and the faithful support of co-worker Patricia Peterson (Connie Sellecca), Tom comes to achieve genuine peace in the midst of storms that engulf him.
